5/26/2023 0 Comments Luminous day spa![]() You almost feel as if you are somewhere in Napa, minus the showers, jacuzzi and surrounding vineyards. Walking into to this spa was pretty impressive especially going beyond the reception door. My next appointment is a pedicure.which they do while you lie down! i can't wait! ![]() I wanted to hi-five everyone when I left. It steamed up the whole room and I was sooo relaxed. She turned on the shower for me, and again.to my amazement the shower had like FIVE SHOWER HEAD JET THINGY'S. I booked for an hour but I should have booked for 90 minutes because it felt like it went quick. My massage was great, Veronica was very interested in my needs and checked up with me during my massage. Just next to my massage room was a gigantic shower, i said to myself "HOLY CRAP" I can't wait to shower in that bad boy. I was given a spa robe and escorted over to my massage room where the bed was lit from beneath and candles everywhere. To add to my excitement, the facial was incredible! But, I was not done. I was like"I am so happy I was the first out of my friends to discover this place." I couldn't wait to tell them about it. Patricia told me they do spa parties all the time. Patricia called me in for my facial and here's the surprising part, just past the huge door in the waiting area was this HUGE HALLWAY that lead back to a party area. Again.I was very excited, I chatted with the receptionist for a while.which never happens in the city. I was greeted with a smile and was asked if I would like any tea or infused water while I filled out my form. When you enter, you think it's this cute little day spa, the retail area is very warm and smells soooo good. The parking lot directly next to the spa is for FIVE HOURS!!! And, it's only a quarter for 20 minutes. As soon as I saw they were open I scheduled for a facial and a massage. I have been waiting for it to open ever since. I saw the "coming soon" sign for Luminous Day Spa one day when I was getting my Peets coffee. Luminous Day Spa is soooo what south san francisco needed. They will also close the spa if you plan a 'girls day out'. If you don't think you'll mind the noise from the open ceilings, which is not that distracting, then I would highly recommend this spa for your next treatment. The one reason I've gone to Nordstrom to have my pedicures was that they also put you in a private room but their cost is much, much higher. Hate the noise from what I call the 'cattle' call salons. They closed the deal when they said that the manicures and pedicures were done in a private room and the pedicure was done while you're lying on a massage table. I've had a facial, manicure and pedicure and have been happy with the treatments. It is kept to a minimum but it's something you'll need to think about before booking. My only objection is because the rooms are not 'capped' off with ceilings (all pipes are exposed) you can hear the noise coming from the hallway when others are arriving for their treatments. Great, friendly staff and the owner is usually at the reception desk which is a really nice touch. ![]() Water and tea is available for the asking if they don't ask you first. The spa is a welcoming site with it's warm color scheme and slightly scented candles. ![]() Easy metered parking where you can still get about 20 minutes for your quarter-no cost on Sundays. SSF seems to be expanding their horizons and Luminous Day Spa is a welcomed addition. ![]()
